2007 marks Claviga's 10th birthday and to celebrate this milestone we are raising GBP 10,000 for an international children's charity
Children in Crisis is a wonderful charity that works in 10 countries to provide educational opportunities as a route out of poverty for the world's most vulnerable children and their families.

Worldwide, one in six children does not have access to an education. Children in Crisis is working to change this. With the help of supporters they are able to offer these children the hope for a better future and the opportunity to live positive healthy lives. To find out more about their work, click here.

Passing the time with Old Father Thames
We’ve done it - 50 km - and all survived to tell the tale. We started at The Riverside Inn on the banks of the Thames in Lechlade at 9.15 am on Thursday 28 June and finished at The Cock and Camel in Oxford at 4.00 pm on Friday 29 June.
The rain stayed away most of the time and unlike many rivers in the UK at the moment, the Thames wasn’t in flood so, despite the muddy fields, long wet grass and large puddles, we stayed mostly dry.
Saffy (Sue’s Golden Retriever) ran probably an extra 20 km but seemed to love every minute of it and gratefully accepted the extra treats she earned. As for the rest of us, I think we all felt we could have trained a little harder and been a little fitter but we’ll know better for next time …
And the most memorable moment … After 17 miles on Thursday, the distant view of the pub we were heading for.
Thank you to everyone who supported us – we couldn’t have done it without you.
If you’d still like to contribute to Children in Crisis but just haven’t got around to it, our fundraising page will continue to accept donations until it expires on 28/08/2007
So far this year, we have raised
We'll regularly update this page so you can see what we have been doing and how well the fundraising is coming along.
Our fund raising isn't just confined to our walk - Claviga is donating GBP 50 for every training programme run during 2007.
What happens if f you upset your Claviga facilitator on a programme? Perhaps your mobile rings, you arrive late, or you are just not behaving very well (in our opionion of course ... ) then you are liable to be asked to make amends by contributing to the Children in Crisis pot that will be sitting in the centre of the table. The same goes for all of our trainers too - if you think one of them deserves to be fined, don't hold back in letting them know ...

The Team ready to go ...
